Professional garden office pod
Urban Grow Pod is an offshoot of Obe & Co Design Ltd; they are a design practice with their own manufacturing facilities. With the growth in home working, the team have turned their attention to garden room design and created a range of professional garden office pods.
Highly insulated and electrically wired with lighting, power sockets and underfloor heating, you can move straight in and start work. The standard electrical specification includes USB charging points and Bluetooth ceiling speakers, so the pods are well equipped.
The standard range of Urban Grow Pod's comes in several standard sizes, from a compact 2.1m deep x 2.7m up to 2.7m deep x 3.9m wide.
The design of the office pod is relatively simple, with an outward opening door mixed with a good-sized opening window on the front elevation. The style comes in the way the exterior has been detailed.
The exterior cladding has a rainscreen profile. The Siberian Larch boards are fitted with a gap between each board, creating a wall with texture and interest. A specialist membrane is fitted behind the cladding, which stops moisture from entering the core structure via the gaps.
Siberian Larch is a low maintenance exterior cladding option. As are the Aluminium doors and windows and the Plastisol coated steel roofing system that Urban Grow Pod specify.
Designed for year-round use
The Urban Grow Pod range is designed for comfortable year-round use. The multi-layer wall build-up includes sheep's wool insulation. This ensures the pod will be warm in winter and a cool place to work on a hot day. Sheep's wool insulation is a more environmentally friendly option than the chemical-based insulations used by other companies.
For the coldest days of the year, the office pods are fitted with underfloor heating as standard. With many other ranges we explore, underfloor heating would only be offered as an optional extra, so the range is well-specified.

After design consultation and site survey, the Urban Grow Pod team will issue you with a fixed price quote for your building. This locks in the job at the price quoted, which is reassuring for the client.
Because the Urban Grow Pod comes with its own foundation system, the only extra you would need to consider is the cost of the electrical hook up. We see the Urban Grow Pod team can quote for this connection, or you can organise a local electrician to make this final connection.
Stylish Birch Ply interior
We are taken with the minimalist interior of the Urban Grow Pod range. There is the option of a Melamine faced MDF lining, which would create a white interior, but the Birch Plywood finish creates a stylish contemporary vibe.
The Urban Grow Pod team have designed a desk and shelving system, which could be the perfect addition. Because the floating desk and the peg board shelving are made from the same Birch Ply as used for the walls, it streamlines the room's appearance.
Bespoke design service too
If Urban Grow Pod's standard sizes and layouts don't work for you, they also offer a bespoke design service where they would work with you to create your ideal garden room.
This narrow pod, for instance, was designed to slot in between a building and a retaining wall, showcasing how you can maximise the most awkward of spaces with bespoke design.
