This article was originally posted on Swift Garden Rooms website, but we wanted to share it with you as it illustrates that members of the garden room industry will say ‘no’ when a project isn’t feasible – this is reassuring stuff.
Here at Swift we are very practised at saying “Yes!” in order to achieve outstanding results for our clients and ensure that we exceed your expectations. But – as Vironika Tugaleva (award-winning author, life coach, and inspirational speaker) once said “Sometimes “No” is the kindest word” and in this particular instance we believe she was absolutely right.
When our director Martin was asked to visit potential clients Colin and Pam in a village near Sutton in Surrey, he had chatted on the phone previously with them about their intention to have an extension. But as experience tells him, he never knows exactly what’s possible until he visits the site and carries out a survey.
On this rare occasion, due to the design of their existing bungalow and various other pertinent structural factors, Martin realised that the cost of overcoming these challenges were out of alignment with the room they would realistically be able to achieve.
TRUST is one of Swift’s core values and a s always Martin stood by what he believed to be the best result for Colin and Pam and gave them his honest opinion. This is what they had to say about their brief experience of Swift…
We were very pleased that Martin, Managing Director, was able to visit us so promptly. His site visit was constructive, professional and friendly. Unfortunately our bungalow proved unsuitable for the extension we had hoped to build without exceeding our budget. However, we would like to record how pleased we were with the whole process particularly with Martin’s honest guidance on the mounting costs. We would not hesitate to return to Swift in the future and would recommend them to anyone considering a Garden Room or extension.”
And this was Martin’s response…
You know the best part… I love my job – especially when there is an outcome that is beneficial to us all…and our dealings have been a pleasure and certainly fall into that category.”
At Swift we believe we should never compromise on high quality service and getting the very best outcome. So even when we have to turn business away we know that it’s the right thing to do, rather than take someone’s money to the detriment of their perceived desires.
