Swift Garden Rooms are using the current situation to very good effect. Director Martin Lawson reports that “Despite the challenges of the operational side of the business - installations are presently suspended until they can safely, compliantly and effectively be resumed, we are relishing the opportunity to use this time to create some outstanding buildings for our clients.” He explains, “Swift have never offered standard ranges – we always listen to what our clients need and then create the solution – each garden room being bespoke to your aspirations. Sometimes this can be a tiny detail, sometimes a completely new approach. Either way, we are enjoying the extra time that some people currently have available to get immersed into the process and become excited about their new space.”

“We have also delighted in hearing how many of our clients are relishing their garden rooms, and how valuable they have been during these demanding times. Space to carry on working from home, space for the family, space for grandparents to stay – the list is as varied, as you can imagine!”
Swift have an experienced and skilled team in place for the whole process – from enquiry, through design, to procurement and installation management. Currently, they are all relocated to their homes – in the North and South of the UK. Phones, photos and emails remain the main methods of contact, but this is increasingly being supplemented by video calls - when this is preferred by our clients. Although a site survey will always be needed at some stage, the main design and pricing can be achieved with great accuracy and success through effective communication and our considerable experience. Martin confirms “Our priority right now is to support all the actions that are in force to prevent the spread of this virus. We can still provide a great service to our new clients – and site surveys will be discussed on a one-to-one basis. They can either be delayed, or if essential, arranged to ensure that they are completely safe to everyone involved… and are lawful.” He continued’ “Nobody knows exactly when installations will fully resume. In the meantime, we will prioritise confirmed orders and projects already in the Planning Permission process for the first available dates,.
On an optimistic note, Martin concludes, “If a few benefits are generated from this horrible virus, then they should be grasped and nurtured. We may discover better uses of our time and place greater value upon some of the unexpected pleasures discovered during “Lockdown UK” - and I do believe that Garden Rooms can play an important part in some of these positive shifts.”
