There is a new option for garden room buyers in London and the South East of England - Spaces by Island.
With a background in retail space design and furniture design, plus experience installing garden rooms for other companies, they bring a host of skills to their own range of garden rooms.
The core structure of the Spaces by Island garden rooms is constructed using CNC machined, insulated cassettes. The plywood modules create a strong core and for a quick onsite build - typically 2 or 3 days.
Spaces by Island garden rooms are available in a range of standard sizes, but we hear they also offer a bespoke design service whereby they can tailor the design and layout to your needs.
A key feature of their standard design is the wall of aluminium bi-fold doors on the front elevation. These slide to one side to open the room up out onto the garden.
Externally, the walls are finished in Thermowood cladding. This is a highly durable finish that requires little maintenance. Newly fitted, it has a rich honey colouring. Thermowwod can be left unpainted and will naturally weather to a mellow silver grey colour with time.
We like the way the design team have added a horizontal Thermowood trim above and below the window. It catches the eye, breaking up the solidity of the wall of cladding.
Inside, Spaces by Island garden rooms have primed MDF walls and ceiling. Lacquered Plywood is an alternative option. The floor is finished with durable laminate flooring.
As standard, the garden rooms are electrically wired, with matt black sockets and switches for a contemporary look. The power sockets are fitted with USB charging points, and there is an Ethernet socket too.
An electric panel heater is included for the coldest days of the year.
