If you like the idea of building a garden room yourself, you are going to be excited by a new range of garden room kits by Garden Hideouts.
Garden Hideouts are an established name at the luxury end of the garden room market, who have applied their design skills to a new self-build range, available in four different finish levels.
The Cabina range by Garden Hideouts is a contemporary style garden room built on a highly insulated SIP’s core. SIP’s panels have become popular in garden room design as they are quick to assemble and completely envelope the building in insulation, removing the cold spots that can occur with traditional timber frame options.
Choose the kit that is right for you
We like how Garden Hideouts have approached their self-build garden room kit options. They have created four different kit options for you to choose from depending how much work you want to do yourself or how much input you want into the finishes used.
Kit A includes everything you need to build the core structure of the garden room. The kit is made up of 122mm thick SIP’s panels that form the floor, walls and roof. The kit includes the fixings you need to join the panels together and assembly instructions. You would need to organise a suitable foundation system for the frame to be built upon but otherwise, the kit includes everything to get your core structure up quickly.
The kit also includes a breathable membrane which will wrap around the exterior of the SIP’s panels. This membrane is an important layer in a garden room build-up as it allows the structure to breathe, preventing moisture entering the structure while letting it escape from within the structure. The installation of the breather membrane also makes the structure temporarily weathertight until the cladding is fitted.
This kit is for you if you want the challenge of building the garden room yourself and want to have the choice of all the materials used to finish the room. Prices for this kit start at £4,295 including VAT for a 3m x 3m building.
If you like the idea of finishing your garden room off but would prefer to know that the foundation and core structure has been built by professionals, then Kit B is for you. Kit B includes everything in Kit A plus a ground screw foundation system. Both the foundation system and the SIP’s core structure are installed for you by the Garden Hideouts team.
Kit B also includes an EPDM roof covering. EPDM is very popular in this style of garden room as it is laid in one piece and has a maintenance free lifespan in excess of 25 years.
Once the foundation and core structure are installed, you can then finish the building using materials you source yourself. Kit B starts at £8,750 for a 3m x 3m building.
Kit C takes Kit B a stage further, again the Garden Hideouts team will install the ground screw foundations and SIP’s core structure, but with Kit C you will also be supplied with aluminium framed, double glazed doors and windows, a rainwater guttering system and an electrical kit that includes a heater.
Other than the exterior cladding and the internal wall, ceiling and floor finishes, you would have everything you need with this kit. Kit C starts at £11,950 for a 3m x 3m building.
Option D isn’t really a self-build option as the Garden Hideouts team will install the complete Cabina for you, complete with Cedar cladding on three elevations and a powder coated steel panel on the rear elevation.
The Garden Hideouts team will also finish the interior of the room for you with fully plastered and decorated walls and ceiling and a wooden floor. The complete Cabina package starts at £16,950 for a 3m x 3m building.
The Cabina is an exciting addition to the self-build garden room market. To learn more talk to the Garden Hideouts team on 0800 1777 933 or take a look at their website.
