Do you have a shed which is looking a little tired? Well you can easily replace it with a modern, fully insulated garden room, that will be a wonderful place to spend time.
One Sanctum Garden Studios customer has recently replaced their shed with a garden room, making full use of a difficult plot to the side of the house.
This customer didn’t want to add a garden room to their flat rear garden, but wanted to take advantage of a raised area of space where a old shed sat.
The space was tight and complicated – with a stepped retaining wall and concrete fencing slabs, as well as having difficult access via a service track at the rear of the property.
A Certificate of Lawful Development was also required which added a number of weeks from the initial enquiry to the installation date. A Certificate of Lawful Development is not the same as Planning Permission but is proof that the building work is lawful.
Sanctum Garden Studios designed a 4.2m x 2.4m studio, with the shorter side turned to the front. Because of the space issue, the roof was cubed and one of the longer sides of the studio was clad in eco board (recycled plastic that would otherwise go to landfill) ensuring the team could build it up to the boundary. A single door with fixed glazed panel to the side were added at the front as well as an additional fixed window to add some extra light at the side.
After two days of installing, at last the customer’s dream to work from their very own home office was realised.
Perhaps you should look at the space where your garden shed sits and replace it with a garden room too!
