We have written before about how the team at Cre8a can replace an old conservatory with an insulated garden room. They have recently completed a project where they replaced a glass sunroom with a room that can be comfortably used all year round.
Cre8a's client had a large pitched roof sunroom next to her house. It was used as an entertainment space. She realised that replacing the old structure with an insulated one, could open up many potential uses now and in the future.
Her initial plan is to use the space as a 'gin room'! She also plans to use the naturally light room to decorate cakes. Cre8a's client runs a cake decorating business and in the long term may set up a full kitchen in the new room.
Using the existing walls of the sunroom as the basis for the build. The Cre8a team removed the pitched roof sunroom. They then replaced it with double glazed uPVC French doors and long windows.
The pitched roof was replaced with a multilayer insulated roof structure. A solid, insulated roof like this will play a key role in ensuring the new room is comfortable to use all year round.
Cre8a's customer was at first nervous that the solid roof would create a dark room, but as we can see, the new room is anything but dark!
When it comes to the interior of the room, Cre8a offer a number of finishes from easy to maintain wall panels to fully plastered and decorated finishes.
In this case, the customer opted to have the walls plastered and decorated. With a lovely dark laminate floor.
The lady has furnished her new room with vintage furniture, creating the perfect gin room!
A quick transformation
This project was completed in just five days by the Cre8a team. Planning permission was not required as they replaced one building with another the same size. The transformation of this 6.915m x 4.07m cost around £12,000.
