Miniature Manors share with us the background to a recent bespoke garden room project:
Based in the heart of the Sussex countryside, our client approached us for a traditional garden room that would be the focal point in their garden. A pitched roof and veranda were a must for our client, who wanted to avoid the box-shaped, contemporary garden rooms he had seen elsewhere. We were also asked to incorporate a small storage area for gardening tools and furniture.
With our bespoke design service, we created a traditional summerhouse with insulation for year-round use. The decked veranda creates fluidity between the summerhouse and garden, as well as providing a place to enjoy the stunning views of the surrounding Sussex Downs. The storage has been subtley placed to the back of the structure, with a separate side entrance. As this garden room is nestled into a wooded area, it was necessary to select materials that would compliment the rustic surroundings – beautiful western red cedar shingles for the roof and locally sourced douglas fir for the exterior cladding.
Our summerhouse is the perfect design for a garden retreat if you desire rustic features. It can be custom-made to the size of your choice, with as much storage space as required.
