We have featured a lot of garden office buildings which incorporate a storage shed over the years. This one by Garden Affairs has taken our eye though because its the narrowest we have seen that incorporates these two uses.
The building is 5 meters wide and 2 meters deep. It is taken from Garden Affairs contemporary Linea Range. The building has been divided into two rooms. One creating a storage shed for tools, bikes etc., and a larger space that is being used a home office and music room.
The exterior of the Linea Range of buildings is clad in Larch, a highly durable timber. Larch is naturally quite a pale wood. Garden Affairs offer the option to stain the cladding prior to fitting, if you are looking for a darker finish, as in this case. This stain is applied in the Garden Affairs factory before delivery for optimum results.
As you can see from these images, the door to the storage room has been clad in the same stained Larch, helping it blend into the wall. Dark grey timber French doors have been fitted to the main room. The expanse of floor to ceiling glazing they create has been extended with the addition of a fixed window alongside. A further window has been fitted on the side wall. This time a high-level rectangular window. A window such as this can be a valuable way of letting in extra light and are easy to open. Like the cladding, the doors and windows were painted in factory conditions prior to delivery.
Inside, the office/music room has been lined with tongue & groove boards. Garden Affairs customer went on to paint these, creating a stylish Shaker feel.
At 2 meters deep, this garden office with shed is ideal if you are limited on space, as it won’t steal too much of your garden. It’s 2.5m height, and the cubist design of the Linea Range means it can also be positioned tight to a boundary, again maximising space.
This garden office with storage room took three days to build. The fully insulated building cost £8,320 on a self-build basis. The Garden Affairs team can quote for the installation for you, dependant on location. They can also quote for the base foundation. The Garden Affairs website clearly lists prices for the factory finishing of the cladding and doors and for extras such as a sedum roof covering.
