This has to be the most unique garden room we have seen, its based on traditional medieval hall house design and built by Garden Cottages.
Garden Cottages is a new company bringing something truly unique to the garden room market, Tim Clark from Garden Cottages gives some background:
We are a family-run carpentry business which specialises in bespoke oak-framed garden rooms, studios and summerhouses that are based on traditional medieval hall house design. My father has been a carpenter for over 30 years, having previously owned and run furniture shops in Camden Lock and Devon, but this particular venture formed out of my father’s desire to build his own outdoor space for his pottery at the back of his garden in Hastings. Our aim is to create something which is completely unique, and each cottage is hand-made with little more than hand-tools to give a more authentic feel and sourced from sustainable oak forests in France”
Each Garden Cottage is built to individual specifications meaning it can be tailored to your needs and tastes. The choice of oak framework and plasterwork infills mean the garden room will look like its been at the bottom of your garden for centuries.

Inspired by the open hall-style houses built in the Kent and Sussex Weald in the 15th Century the Garden Cottage shown here is 5m x 3m and is fully weather tight meaning it can be comfortably used all year round, and would be ideal as a garden office, studio or just a unique space to relax.
Each Garden Cottage is built from scratch at Garden Cottages workshop in East Sussex and installed with minimal disruption to your garden. Prices include installation and takes approximately 3 – 4 weeks.
Its a delight to see the craftsmanship, and detail that has gone into this garden room.
