Executive Garden Rooms have recently completed a large garden office for their clients to work from home in. At 6.4 meters x 5.5 meters this is a sizeable office creating just over 35 square meters of work space.
The Executive Garden Rooms designers have shaped the front elevation of the office, to enable natural light to flood the room. The glazing also offers lovely views of the garden as the owner works.
The office is additionally light thanks to the large square Velux roof window. This is a feature we are seeing being used more often in garden office design. The window increases the amount of natural light in the office dramatically. Its also nice to watch the sky go by when you are taking a few minutes off work!
Executive Garden Rooms are always well specified electrically. In this build 14 LED recessed down-lights were fitted internally, with a PIR sensor light fitted externally. The office has 10 double power sockets, 5 additional single sockets and a external double power socket. The owners will have been able to start work as soon as they moved in thanks to the Cat6 data point. They will also have peace of mind that the office is safe thanks to the smoke alarm. The whole electrical system was connected to the mains supply in the customers house with an armoured cable, as per the Building Regulations.
In addition to the building and internal decoration the Executive Garden Rooms team also created a flexible shelving system into the desk area of the office.
All garden offices sited within 1 meter of the boundaries of a garden and over 15 square meters in footprint need to be built to Building Control standards. Executive Garden Rooms are very au fait with this process and will guide you through the application process and ensure that the building meets all the relevant codes. It is important that this process is handled correctly as it can effect the conveyancing process on the sale of your house.
This build took 15 days, which seems very good for a office of this size and specification.
