This garden room by Garden Affairs packs a lot of punch into its 5m x 4m footprint. Designed to have two distinct uses and to be used by the whole family, it will act as a home office and a family gaming space.
Garden Affairs clients wanted to create a room that could comfortably be used all year round, no matter what the weather. They decided on a custom log cabin design by Garden Affairs. Unlike many log cabin style garden buildings on the market, Garden Affairs range are designed for year-round use. The walls are 44mm thick interlocking timbers, with insulation in the floor and roof. Topping this off, the doors and windows feature double glazed units.
Stylish blue and white colour palette
You can make your mark with a Garden Affairs log cabin building. In this case, the customers have chosen a stylish blue and white colour palette. Externally they have mixed a fresh blue finish with crisp white accents. We like how they have chosen white for the spacious porch area; it's really effective.
Inside, the customers have chosen a slightly darker blue to mix with the white, again it's really effective, enhancing the lines of the vaulted ceiling.
Even using darker colours inside, the garden room is wonderfully light. The Garden Affairs team will work with you to decide on the best configuration of doors and windows to ensure your room is light. In this case, two sets of French doors have been mixed with a long casement window and two roof windows.
Furniture zones the two spaces
As we can see from the photos, the owners have cleverly zoned the 5m x 4m building to serve the two uses. Neither use is dominated by the other, and the room works as a whole.
With the porch detail, an L-shaped interior has been created. The office has been set up in the smaller 'wing'. With the two sets of doors leading off this area, it has a good working light. An L-shaped desk has been set up with space for three monitors. Clever shelving has been fitted offering meters of storage for books, CDs etc.
An L-shaped sofa has zoned the family gaming room. With two large TV's and an X-box installed, it is the perfect set up for an avid gamer.
