Garenberg produce beautiful contemporary garden rooms. Their Karma range is available in two external finishes, cedar tongue & groove boards and a stone composite finish which you would normally find specified by architects on high specification houses.
The Karma range has a sturdy timber framework with 95mm of insulation in between. A marine plywood sheathing is fixed to the outside of the frame and stops the frame twisting, over this a breather membrane is fitted which stops the inward movement of moisture, finally, over an airspace the chosen external cladding is fitted.
The roof of the Karma range is covered with EPDM membrane; this is a commercial product with a life span in excess of 40 years. As standard the EPDM membrane is covered with pebbles and the edges of the roof are covered in a durable and stylish stainless steel trim. A sedum roof covering is available as an upgrade, sedum roofs are environmentally friendly as they add additional thermal properties to the building, control moisture and absorb CO2 from the atmosphere. The plants chosen by Garenberg for the roof give constant colour ranging from whites and yellows in the spring to reds and purples in winter.
As standard the doors and windows on the Karma are UPVC, available in an oak or rosewood finish, as an optional upgrade the doors and windows can be made from environmentally friendly Accoya. Accoya doors and windows have a 50 year guarantee, whilst paint and stain have a 12 and 10 year guarantee respectively.
Internally the Karma range has real wood flooring and engineered board walls and ceiling which continue the contemporary feel. There are choices in finish on the electrical sockets and lights and as standard the Karma is heated with a free standing oil filled radiator, although there is an upgrade option of under floor heating. For the summer months Garenberg offer the option of air conditioning.
Unlike many firms Garenberg include the buildings foundation in their price. Their foundation comprises of adjustable pads made from recycled plastic which are seated on crushed concrete. This is a low impact foundation which is particularly appropriate if the building is going to be moved at a later date.
Prices for the Karma start at £11,034 including VAT for a 3.2m x 2.5m (10.6ft x 8.2ft) room. Garenberg offer business users a finance option which starts at as little as £212 per month. The Karma comes with a 5 year guarantee backed by the Consumer Protection Association and takes 2-3 days to install.
In addition to the full service Karma range Garenberg offer a range of self assembly buildings; these modern garden rooms feature fully glazed walls and decking areas. The self assembly range is available in 15 different layouts in sizes from 2.5m x 2.4m to 4.1m x 3.0m.
Designed to be fitted on a level concrete base (not included) the self build range has adjustable feet for easy levelling. The garden room has a SIP frame work with 75mm of insulation, the external cladding is cedar tongue & groove fixed horizontally. The doors and windows are UPVC and are available in 5 modern colours, and have Low E double glazed units. The roof of the garden room is covered as standard in a performance EPDM membrane, but there is an option for a sedum living roof.
Internally the garden room is finished with moisture resistant boards with skirting, which are already for your choice of finish.
This self build studio is literally a plug in and play building, the pre installed electrical system is connected to the main house supply by armoured cable and plugged into the nearest 13amp socket so there is no need for an electrician.
Garenberg estimate the garden room will take a competent DIY’er a day to install. This self build option offers buyers significant cost savings; a 2.4m x 2.5m garden room costs £6995 including VAT. If you would prefer Garenberg to install the garden room for you this costs an additional £500.
