Grand Designs Live started this morning at ExCel London; it runs until next Sunday, 7 May 2017. Grand Designs Live is a great opportunity to explore several garden room designs up close. In fact, there are six garden room suppliers showcasing their work this week, so there is lots to see.
Garden Spaces have one of the largest garden rooms on show this week, and it is a clever design that showcases several design features which you might want to consider for your project.
The show building showcases different cladding finishes which you might like to consider. It is becoming popular to mix and match exterior finishes on a garden room, and Garden Spaces offer a wide palette of finishes. This building showcases Western Red Cedar cladding as well as slate tile sections. These natural finishes are complimented by the composite decking boards, which hold their colour without maintenance.
This garden room also showcases a couple of your door options – bi-fold doors which open up a whole section of wall and sliding doors with floor to ceiling fixed glazed panels alongside. This is a clever way of creating a large expanse of glazing. The room also incorporates narrow floor to ceiling windows. These can be positioned in a garden room to frame a view of your garden and let extra light into the room, without taking up too much wall space.
Garden Spaces internal finish is like you will find in a new build house, with plastered and decorated walls and ceiling, and a laminate wood floor. The design team cleverly prove that you can easily put your own mark on the interior. In this case, they have created a feature wall with a picture of the Cornish coastline.
If you are heading to Grand Designs Live this week be sure to check out Garden Spaces stand, as you can see there is a lot to explore on it. You will find them on stand G130.
