Executive Garden Rooms have recently completed this building in Chiswick, London. As with many London gardens there wasn’t easy access to the garden meaning all the materials had to be transported through the house. Luckily Executive Garden Rooms have built several garden rooms with difficult access so this wasn’t too much of a challenge for them.
Another reason the customer opted to work with Executive Garden Rooms was that they offer a traditional concrete slab foundation system. The customer was concerned about foxes nesting under the building and a traditional slab foundation overcomes this as there is no void for the foxes to get into.
Executive Garden Rooms offer a turnkey service meaning that they handle everything for the customer from initial design right through to handing over the keys. As part of this service they hand dug the site for the foundation. This meant removing around 9 tonnes of spoil from the site and transporting it through the house!
All the materials for the 3.7m x 4m garden room were also transported through the house. Executive Garden Rooms went to great lengths to protect the fabric of the house as they moved all these materials.
The room is clad in Western Red Cedar which contrasts well with the grey doors and windows. The room is extra light thanks to the 1m x 1m electric Velux window.
As with all Executive Garden Rooms the room is fully wired electrically. This building features plenty of power sockets, LED lights, a pendent light and external power point.
So, if you have a site with difficult access don’t be deterred, talk to Executive Garden Rooms on 01202 874 766 or visit their website for more information on their work. If you’d like to view more examples of Executive Garden Rooms work take a look at their gallery here.
