GRL – Garden Room Living have recently completed this substantial garden room in North Hykeham, Lincoln.
The 6m wide by 3m deep building features a 800mm overhang along the front elevation. Recessed lights have been fitted under this canopy which will cast an attractive curtain of light down the front elevation when it is dark.
The building is clad in cedar which is a popular cladding material for garden rooms thanks to it colour and natural durability to rot and fungal attack. The cladding has been detailed well – we always look to see how a supplier has created the wall / eaves intersection. In this case GRL have ensured that the wall cladding, the eaves detail and the boards along the fascia all line up perfectly. The cedar has been varnished which brings out the grain of the wood.
Dark grey upvc doors and windows have been chosen to contrast with the cedar cladding.
GRL have work closely with a garden landscape company who landscaped the area around the garden – have a look at their website.
