In this guest post Gembuild introduce us to some of their larger garden buildings:
From Accommodation Units to Classrooms
Gembuild has recently taken on a series of particularly large-scale garden building commissions, so we thought we’d take a closer look to learn more about the buildings and what they’ll be used for.
A very recent timber-framed creation was for an outdoor classroom, which Gembuild designed and built for Mowbray School in North Yorkshire, having already supplied similar units to other institutions. Gembuild’s classroom units represent astonishing value and can be erected in just a few days, including during school breaks, so cause minimum disruption. As the photograph shows, the finished result is very smart with its slate roof, gabled entrance and natural timber cladding. A beautiful result, which is warm, attractive and functional with double-glazing, lighting, electric points and accommodation-grade insulation all included as standard. Gembuild can also include other utilities, if required, including running water, heating, air conditioning and so on. They are also more than happy to include features suited to the disabled (see below).

Another large garden building recently produced by Gembuild is this bespoke accommodation unit, which includes a bedroom and kitchenette. Timber-framed garden buildings of this type are ideal as additional accommodation because they are every bit as warm and comfortable as their brick-built counterparts, but cost a fraction of the price. They can also be built far faster. They are ideally suited for additional living space, accommodation for dependent relatives, granny annexes and even self-contained housing for lodgers or older offspring who would like independence without the huge expense associated with purchasing their own property. Gembuild garden buildings can also be fitted with extras like access ramps for wheelchairs, disabled toilets, grab bars, attention chords and panic alarms and, of course, come with power and lighting circuits as standard. Everything can be customised, including the layout, size and shape as well as the fixtures, fittings, colour, cladding and roofing. Although modular to a degree, Gembuild garden buildings end up being essentially bespoke, to suit the needs and tastes of each individual customer.

Timber-framed Park Homes
Gembuild is also well equipped to supply bespoke park homes. These are an obvious alternative use for the accommodation-grade units described above, being fully customisable to incorporate kitchens, bathrooms, showers, multiple bedrooms and so on. Once finished, they’re every bit a home from home! More information about Gembuild’s park homes is available here: http://www.gembuild.co.uk/park-homes-holiday-cabins/
Gembuild has been supplying garden rooms for many years, having previously been in the construction industry building large-scale, multi-storey timber-framed buildings for the business and residential market. Today they design, supply and fit a huge range of garden buildings, throughout the UK, which are suitable for anything from garden studios, workshops and gyms to offices, classrooms, self-contained annexes and classrooms. Customers can choose standard models or fully bespoke buildings. Either way, a huge number of options are available including colour, cladding, roofing materials and so on.
