This 4m x 3.5m entertainment pod by Cre8a has transformed the end of its owners garden. It has been designed to maximise the space alongside a garden shed. Creating a room that can comfortably be
A low maintenance design
The entertainment pod will require little annual maintenance to stay looking good. This is because Cre8a make use of a composite cladding system which will not fade or rot, and does not need painting to maintain its colour.
Cre8a offer their exterior cladding system in a wide palette of finishes, from wood grains to solid colours. On this project, they have mixed solid grey panels with a rich woodgrain panel. The wood effect cladding has a similar colour to Cedar, but unlike real Cedarwood, will not fade to grey as it ages.
A dark grey uPVC door and window have been colour matched with the grey panels. This simple palette of materials is very effective.
A key feature of the design is the deep roof canopy which extends beyond the front wall. Recessed downlights have been fitted into the canopy. These will create a stylish curtain of light down the front of the building.
A project not without its challenges
Building the entertainment pod was not without its challenges. There was no direct access to the garden from the road. Luckily, this was not too much of a challenge for the Cre8a team who walked all the materials and tools for the project through their clients’ house. Doing so didn’t hold up work too much, and the project was fully completed in just 5 days.
How much would a room like this cost?
To build a similar size and layout of garden room from Cre8a you would need a budget of £17,000 to £20,000.
