If you pressed us to pick a favourite garden room, it would probably be a pitched roof design. This is because they create such a wonderful interior space. The pitched roofline allows for a vaulted ceiling which creates a room with a much more airy feel than their mono-pitched counterparts.
You do need to consider the Permitted Development rules when building a pitched roof garden room — buildings over 2.5m high need to be sited at least 2m from any boundary. If sited 2m from each boundary, dual pitched roof garden rooms can be a maximum of 2.5m high at the eaves and 4m at the ridge. Otherwise, you will need to apply for Planning Permission to build. The companies we feature will all help with this application, if needed, as part of their overall service.
