With the MyPad range, one of the side walls extends beyond the front wall, with the roof and decked entrance running from this wall to the other side wall creating an angled entrance area, which we feel is rather sharply detailed. This detailing creates a unique and welcoming entrance to the garden room. It offers some natural shading in the room during the hotter months when the sun is at its highest and some shelter as you unlock the doors on a rainy day. It’s also nice how the bi-fold doors fold back and sit neatly within the deepest part of the entrance.
This particular MyPad garden room was built in 2014, but we just love how it sits within the established garden, we wanted to showcase it to you. This example is a substantial 5m x 3.5m and is being used as a home office.
As well as the 3-leaf set of bi-fold doors which sit in the middle of the front wall, a floor to ceiling fixed glass window has been positioned on the side wall to frame the view over the lawns. It is a good idea to position glass on two or three walls if you have the space, as it means you maximise your natural light throughout the day.
Contemporary Garden Rooms are known for their cladding detailing, in this case, Western Red Cedar has been fixed vertically. If you look closely at the cladding on the angled fascia, it is in line with the cladding boards on the walls. Details like this are pleasing to the eye.
Internally, the garden room has a modern feel thanks to the fully plastered and decorated walls and ceiling and the laminate wood floor. The garden room is fully wired electrically with brushed steel fittings.
