Contemporary boutique glamping pods

The majority of garden rooms we feature are for domestic use, but the concept of these versatile buildings can be equally applied to commercial settings. A fine example are these three boutique glamping pods created by Contemporary Garden Rooms for their clients The Baron at Bucknell, Shropshire.

Three luxury clamping pods in shropshire

The Baron at Bucknell, a pub/restaurant were looking to increase the number of hotel rooms they had so approached the Contemporary Garden Rooms team to create three large, luxury glamping pods designed for couples. The design they chose is based on Contemporary Garden Rooms My Pad range of buildings. The My Pad is a popular range of garden rooms, with strong contemporary lines thanks to its elongated side wall, which then creates a sharply detailed, angled entrance on the front elevation.

The aim was to create three spacious hotel rooms with a luxury boutique feel. One of the pods was designed with wheelchair access, extra railings, chair in the shower and an emergency pull lights. Each of the pods sits on a footprint of 6 meters by 7 meters.

The Contemporary Garden Rooms team handled the whole project for their clients, right down to the fitting of the furniture and the curtain poles. Working with one supplier like this on a turnkey project basis ensures a stress-free, project managed process. You can just stand back and watch your buildings take shape.

Contemporary Garden Rooms designed each of the pods so that they incorporate a spacious open plan bedroom/living space. A kitchenette has been incorporated with integrated fridge, sink and coffee machine.

A high spec wet room has been created in each of the pods. The wet room has underfloor heating, and a heated towel rail so will be nice and cosy even on the coldest days of the year. A shower has been fitted with discreet glass screen and integrated shelf. A wall hung toilet creates a streamlined look. The wet room has been beautifully tiled with mirror insets. A discreet window allows for easy ventilation.

Guests get to enjoy fresh towels and luxury toiletries during their stay.

Open plan living/sleeping area

Each of the three pods has their own distinct style. The Contemporary Garden Rooms team fitted floating beds with ceiling fans above. The positioning of the bed means that guests will have great views out of the wide expanses of glazing to the views beyond.

Each pod has a comfy sofa, coffee table and 55″ TV, which is hung on the wall above an electric Gazco fire, set into the wall, lovely for a cosy winter break.

Moving outside

The three contemporary hotel pods have been sited alongside a natural swimming pool. To enhance this lovely setting the Contemporary Garden Rooms team created a deck area outside each of the pods. So that this is low maintenance and looks good for years to come, a reinforced, durable composite wood deck was fitted.

The decked area and natural swimming pool was completed with an outside shower and a hydrotherapy hot tub with 29 jets and LED lighting! Contemporary Garden Rooms also created the paths and installed exterior quality ground lights leading to the pods.

Thanks to the elongated side wall of the My Pad range, each pod has a real sense of privacy leading off this communal area.

Completed in just seven weeks

The Contemporary Garden Rooms team completed this whole project in just seven weeks, which seems very impressive to us. This 7-week schedule included the building of the three pods in the workshop, delivering and assembling them on site, and then fitting out and detailing the interior.

Working together, the Baron at Bucknell team and Contemporary Garden Rooms have created three very desirable holiday pods. We are sure they started paying for themselves within days of completion. Boutique holiday pods like this can make great business sense for pubs & restaurants, particularly if you have a good sized garden like this.
