Vivid Green has recently completed this family chillout room as part of a wider garden transformation. Vivid Green’s clients wanted to create an inside-outside building at the heart of their new look garden.
The Vivid Green team was tasked with creating a garden room that could be built simultaneously as the garden was landscaped. They designed a square building sitting on a footprint of 4.28m x 4.28m; this is roughly 14ft x 14ft. The key feature of the design is the two sets of aluminium bi-fold doors which have been positioned to create a corner of glazing. The doors fold back to open up a large section of the building onto the garden. Creating a seamless indoor-outdoor connection.
Underfloor heating has been fitted so that there is no need for heaters on the walls. This increased the flexibility in positioning furniture in the room.
Working alongside the landscapers
This project was completed as the rest of the garden was landscaped. The Vivid Green team and the landscaper working closely together. The landscapers actually installed the foundation for the garden room, and the Vivid Green team installed the building. Once the room was complete, the landscapers finished the area around the building.
The Cedar cladding used on the walls of the garden room has been replicated further down the garden. To create an outdoor kitchen. A clever way of linking the two spaces together.
The project took two weeks to complete.
