Over recent years it has become very popular to create one garden building that serves two uses - forming an insulated room that can be used all year round alongside a functional storage area.
This 5.6m x 2.7m garden room with integral shed is by Garden Affairs. The building is a variation of Garden Affairs popular Linea range. We have featured lots of examples of the Linea over the last couple of years. It is popular because of its contemporary style and cubed roofline, which allows it to be positioned tight to a boundary if needed.
As standard, the Linea Range is clad externally with Larch boards. Larch is a highly durable cladding material that has a lovely honey colour that will weather to silver if left untreated but takes a colour stain very well too. Garden Affairs offer many shades of stain you can choose from - we have featured some lovely examples in a soft grey shade.
With this project, Garden Affairs customer prefered the option of Cedar cladding. Garden Affairs were happy to swap the standard Larch with Cedar for their client. The rich colour of the Cedar looks lovely mixed with the dark grey timber doors that are factory painted in the Garden Affairs workshops.
Look closely, and you can just see the 'secret door' which leads into the storage room. As you can see, the cladding on the door has been carefully matched with the boards used on the wall.
Inside the main room which will be used as a place to relax and enjoy the garden, the walls and ceiling have been plasterboarded, creating a finish like a new build house.
