Roger Hedges & Karl Plumber, directors of the Spaces Group are both family men who want to do everything they can to protect the environment for future generations. As a result, they are working towards becoming a carbon-neutral company, as soon as possible, with the hope of becoming carbon-positive after that.
Environmentally friendly garden room designs
Factors such as energy usage, limiting material wastage and ensuring building longevity are front of mind for the Spaces Group design team, as Roger Hedges explains:
"We are doing this by supplying highly thermally efficient buildings, that surpass Building Control requirements for thermal performance, and with green options such as even more efficient glazing, air to air heat pumps, green roofs and solar cells. Our buildings incorporate sustainable materials wherever possible, and we are striving to improve yet further with the cooperation of our carefully selected suppliers. Although low maintenance is key to what we deliver, with a little TLC our buildings will last a lifetime.
We are always focused on reducing onsite waste and ensuring that all waste is recycled by effectively.
We can also incorporate clever, smartphone-controlled Wi-Fi control technology to ensure high levels of energy efficiency in your building by controlling things such as lighting and temperature during periods of non/lighter-use."
Save a sea otter when you buy your garden room
Both Roger and Karl are experienced divers and have chosen to support the WWF Adopt a Sea Otter programme.
If you purchase one of their buildings, a Sea Otter will be adopted as follows:
- One Sea Otter adopted for every garden room purchase
- Two Sea Otters adopted for every self-contained garden annexe purchased
- Three Sea Otters adopted for every school classroom purchased
How great is that?!
