Addroom® is a new self-build house extension option. Designed as an alternative to a conservatory, it creates a more versatile room that can be comfortably used all year round. The Addroom® is also a quicker to build, more cost-effective alternative to a traditional brick extension.
The Addroom® range is available in several popular sizes, such as 3m x 3m, 4m x 3m and 5m x 3m, with prices starting at £8,669.99, including VAT for the 3m x 3m option. There are also smaller porch options.
Thanks to its glazed front elevation, an Addroom® offers a great connection between indoor and outdoor spaces. The glazed wall is configured with a combination of doors, fixed windows and opening windows. The uPVC door and window frames feature multi-point locking systems.
You can choose the external finish of your Addroom® walls. There is a contemporary grooved option and two brick effect options - red and grey. Both finish options are durable composites that have long, low maintenance lifespans.
Inside, the walls are finished with Fermacell boards, a fireproof board that can be painted or wallpapered so that you can make your mark on the look of your room.
Conservatory alternative
An Addroom® garden room extension is an alternative to a conservatory. The problem with a conservatory is that with its glazed roof, the room can become very hot during the summer months and uncomfortably cold during the winter.
Because the Addroom® has a solid, insulated roof structure, you will be able to control the temperature in the room much more easily than you could in a conservatory. The multi-layer floor and wall structures also feature insulation, and the doors and windows are double glazed.
Self-build house extension
The Addroom® is delivered in easy to assemble panels suitable for a competent DIY'er to assemble. We hear that two people could build the 3m x 3m flat-pack extension in 2-3 days.
Foundation wise, the Addroom® can be installed on an existing solid base, such as a concrete slab or paving stones. The timber floor frame is pressure treated against rot and fungal attack and comes with a ten-year warranty.
Low maintenance finishes
The exterior of the Addroom® will require little maintenance. The doors and windows are white uPVC and need nothing more than a soapy washdown. The brick effect walls are made out of WPC, a low maintenance composite product made from a mixture of wood fibres and plastic.
