My Eco Space is fast becoming the go-to company for professional fitness instructors looking to create a private gym business in their garden. Over the last few months, we have featured several of their gym projects, which you might like to explore:
My Eco Space was commissioned by a client in North London to build a bespoke yoga studio, in her beautiful garden. They chose to build a 7 meter wide by 4.5 meter deep building. The building has an overall height of 2.8 meters, so is 300mm taller than the average garden room. People buying a garden gym often choose a taller design to maximise the ceiling height within the room. You would need to discuss this with your designer when they conduct their site visit. They will advise you on whether you need to make a planning application for the building or whether a mono pitched roofline positioned at least 2 meters from each boundary can be built under the Permitted Development rules.
The My Eco Space team handled the whole project on their client’s behalf. They are one of a few garden room companies who will handle the ground clearance of the site prior to the construction work starting. This can be a valuable service, saving you the job of preparing the site or engaging another company to do so.
The building itself sits on a series of ground screw foundations. The My Eco Space team also prepared the site and then laid the patio terrace that runs along the front of the building.
As with all My Eco Space projects, this garden gym is built using SIP’s – Structural Insulated Panels. The overall wall thickness is a substantial 212mm thick. The exterior of the walls is finished in Western Red Cedar cladding. Whilst, internally the room has a crisp, plastered and decorated interior. The My Eco Space team also sourced and fitted the custom size mirrors which line the rear wall of the yoga studio.
An integral storage area has been designed into the gym so that yoga equipment can be tidied away. The electrical specification includes remote control, programmable mood lighting and a 6kw climate control system so the temperature can be controlled every day of the year.
