What makes your company / garden rooms unique?
We are a family run business, our garden rooms are completely bespoke – each one is designed to the clients requirements, we offer full project management from start to finish providing excellent customer service and a quality product.
What feature of your garden rooms are you most proud of?
– We include a roof light with 24mm toughened Pilkington k-glass as standard which maximises natural light
– Underfloor heating with programmable thermostat and choice of porcelain or natural stone tile is included in the price
– Finished floor to ceiling height of 2200mm
– Highly insulated within 200mm thick walls means the room can be used all year round
When designing your garden rooms, which is more important form or function?
They go hand in hand, we look at the intended use and design a garden room that best fits the requirements. Our product is totally flexible.
What scope do you have for incorporating the customers design ideas into your garden rooms?
The client has full input to the design process, we use their ideas to create computer generated visuals which can be amended until the client is completely happy, we then provide a full quotation based on the agreed design.
The client has the choice of colour of electrical fittings, joinery, door furniture, floor tiles and internal decoration.
Many customers are concerned about planning permission, how can you help customers with this issue?
Most garden rooms do not require planning, we are very familiar with the planning regulations and can advise the client if planning or building regulations are required depending on their circumstances, if they are we can assist with the process.
We have links with an independant building inspector who can work with the client on any building regulations and conduct site visits if necessary.
Not every site is level, what options do you have for building your garden rooms on uneven ground?
We build our garden rooms on a concrete slab foundation, the reduce dig will ensure that the garden room is level and avoid the need for decking platforms so that you can step out of the garden room directly to a paved area.
Some customers are concerned about the ongoing maintenance of a garden room, what annual maintenance do your garden rooms require?
We clad our rooms with Western redwood cedar (clear & better grade) this needs no ongoing maintenance.
Our joinery is sprayed in the workshop with 4 coats of Sikkens paint.
Our roof is guaranteed for 15 years therefore the only annual maintenance is to clean out the gutter.
What aftercare do you offer your customers?
On completion of the garden room we have a final inspection and handover meeting to ensure the client is 100% satisfied with the quality of finish, we hold back a retention for a month. After that the buildings are guaranteed against manufacturing defects and decay for 5 years, roof for 15 years.
