Atelier suppliers of garden rooms with curve appeal answer our questions in the latest in our 5 Minutes With… series:
What makes your company / garden rooms unique?
Atelier can provide both modular and bespoke designs based on the needs of the client. Furthermore, our garden studios are not just freestanding; they can be incorporated into property structures to create amazing ground floor extensions.
What feature of your garden rooms are you most proud of?
The unique look with the curve.
When designing your garden rooms, which is more important form or function?
Atelier’s studios are designed to incorporate form with function. Function doesn’t have to be ugly, and our jaw-droppingly gorgeous structures can be used for almost anything.
What scope do you have for incorporating the customers design ideas into your garden rooms?
We have limitless scope. Our studios can be used for almost any activity and the modular system configured for any requirement. We have had orders for our modular studios for many different activities; including garden offices, a changing room and sun house for a private swimming pool, and a house extension. We are also currently using our template to design and construct a new visitors’ centre for Oystermouth Castle.
Many customers are concerned about planning permission, how can you help customers with this issue?
Planning permission is not necessarily required; however, we provide full planning support via our dedicated planning team, and handle the submission of planning applications if required. Additionally, our studios are designed to conform to all relevant building regulations thereby negating any concerns in that area.
Not every site is level, what options do you have for building your garden rooms on uneven ground?
The swift foundation system we use accommodates uneven ground, so that our garden studios can be constructed on sloping ground.
Some customers are concerned about the ongoing maintenance of a garden room, what annual maintenance do your garden rooms require?
Virtually no maintenance is required – only what any proud homeowner may want to undertake as a matter of course. Our studios are constructed from Western Red Cedar felled from sustainable FSC accredited forests. This durable timber requires no treatment and has an expected service life of 40–60 years. The timber does not need treating but it can be oiled to preserve its natural colour.
What aftercare do you offer your customers?
We offer a 5-year guarantee, and a dedicated aftercare support team to remedy any problems that may very occasionally arise.
Describe your company in three words!
