It’s always exciting when a new garden room range launches, to see what the design team have come up with, and the new range by Pod Living is not a disappointment! Designed in conjunction with respected architects AFL the Pod Living design really stands out from the crowd with its unique take on garden living.
The Pod Living design ticks many of the boxes that garden room buyers are looking for – contemporary design, an overall height of less than 2.5m meaning that Planning Permission is seldom needed, options to create self contained living accommodation, and designer features such as bi-fold doors and sedum roofs – coupled with a striking design as can be seen in these images.
We love the curves of the Pod Living design and the way the cedar shingles (a refreshing change from cedar tongue & groove boards) wrap around the building, creating a seamless joint between the walls and roof!
Pod Living offer four standard design ‘pods’ as well as a bespoke design service and a range of classrooms, each building is available in two specification levels catering for all design tastes and budgets.
The Garden Pod is 3.6m x 3m and would make a good size home office, studio or gym. The basic specification model is good featuring fully glazed bi-folds, rockwool insulation, a wall heater, 4x down-lights and 2 double sockets (note: you might want more than this for a home office) and larch cladding – at £14,995 plus VAT its a good price for such a strong design. The upgraded specification model comes in at £17,995 plus VAT but you get an insulation upgrade, cedar cladding, additional down-lights and electrical sockets, underfloor heating, a rear window and a sedum roof which is a fantastic feature especially when viewed from above.
The Multi Pod is that bit larger at 3.6m x 6m, and the Living Pods come in at 4m x 7m and 4m x 10m, as the name suggests these pods have been designed as independent living units with kitchens, bathrooms, separate bedrooms and living space making them ideal as granny annexes, accommodation for grown up children, holiday lets etc.
Pod Living have given a lot of thought to the fittings they have chosen for the Living Pods and have teamed up with German kitchen makers Schuller for the kitchens and Pelipal for the bathroom furniture.
All Pod Living rooms are manufactured off-site and delivered to site as virtually complete units, with just the final touches applied on site, meaning on site times can be as little as 2 – 5 days.
So, if you are looking for a garden room or living annexe that stands-out from the crowd take a look at Pod Living.
