The Mökki range of architect designed small garden rooms has proved very popular with readers of The Garden Room Guide, so we were interested to here that they are making a few changes to the specification for 2015.
James Risebero the architect behind the Mökki range tells us about the changes:
Everyone wants as much sun and light in their studio as possible and, of course, people want a direct connection to their garden. This is why we’ve significantly increased the amount of glazing across our range. Now our fixed, full height windows are 750mm clear width but the biggest change for us is that our doors are now fully glazed. And there is no uPVC is sight – this is all quality douglas fir joinery, fabricated in Devon and fitted with ‘A’ rated double glazing and satin stainless steel ironmongery. We think this gives our studios a more sophisticated feel.
Elsewhere our specification is unchanged. We still use birch faced plywood for the interior and Siberian Larch cladding for the exterior, all from sustainable sources. And we are still offering multiple layouts. As you know our system is modular, so the panels and windows can be combined in many ways. There are 30 possible configurations shown on our website.
We hope you like the new look Mökki. We are looking forward to building several in 2015.”
