A garden room with integrated storage area seems to have been one of the big trends for 2014. More and more homeowners are replacing a garden shed with a high quality room, but realise that they need to incorporate storage into their new building.
This is no problem for the bespoke garden room designers like Harrison James who tailor their designs for both the garden and the intended use of the building.
With this building the customer run a nursery from home so needed an out door space for work purposes but also needed somewhere to store and hide the toys during her off duty time.
The Harrison James team have designed a 5 meter x 3 meter building which incorporates a 1 meter wide store area. This new area is discreetly disguised with the door being matched into the wall cladding.
Specification wise the room is built on a fully insulated core structure and clad vertically in cedar. The doors are in a brown UPVC to complement the reddish brown of the cedar but will look equally good as the cedar weathers to its silver grey state.
Internally Harrison James rooms have the feel of a room in a modern house. They are fully plastered and decorated. The floor is an oak effect laminate.
The building is fully wired electrically and features LED lighting both internally and externally.
The project cost £19,000 including VAT.
