Garden room on a sloping site

We don’t all have flat gardens, and a sloping site can make people think that a garden room is not an option for them, but garden room suppliers have a number of solutions to this problem in their toolbox, as this recent build by Bathstone Garden Rooms shows.

Andrew Knight of Bathstone Garden Rooms explains the project:

We have never built two garden rooms that are the same, and this one certainly needed to be a bit different! The garden is in the flood plain of a tributary to the Thames and so we needed to build it on stilts. The balcony looks over the river, and the whole building has been clad with oak board to compliment the oak posts and frame. It has a toilet and storage shed and is being used primarily as an office. It required planning permission, which we obtained for our client.”

This is the beauty of working with a bespoke garden room designer, they tailor each element of the build to your site and requirements – you wouldn’t get this level of customisation with a standard ‘off the peg’ design!
