Living roofs are popular options on garden rooms, and the brochures and websites like this talk about how they can provide a sequence of colour and interest on your garden room, but what do they really look like in summer? Roomworks have sent through this photo of their show building which features a living roof.
Whilst many living roofs are on flat garden rooms it’s great to see this example on a pitched roof garden room, the pitch of the roof shows the living roof off to its full beauty, the pinks, white and green is a tapestry of planting. It’s worth considering a pitched roof garden room rather than a flat roof one if you are opting for a living roof covering as you will get to appreciate the natural beauty of the roof from all angles.
This is obviously an established garden room and it’s interesting to see how the colours of the roof still contrast brilliantly with the slightly weathered cedar, a living roof really is a long term option for garden rooms.
