Creating An Alternative Space For A Growing Family

Alternative Space have sent these great photos of one of their most recent garden room builds, Paul Marsden of Alternative Space explains the background to the project:

Living in a North London flat, with a growing family, needing more space but not wanting to move, our clients turned to ‘Alternative Space’ for a solution. Despite the fact they only have a small urban garden, complete with a pond and a trampoline which could not be dismantled, we successfully installed a large Eco Den, 4.8m x 3.3m. Our clients are delighted; they now have a place for their children to study and play and storage space, which has enabled them to de-clutter their flat. Being in a Conservation Area planning permission had to be sought, however this was not a problem for us as we have experience making planning applications and communicating with planning departments. This latest Eco Den has an additional feature within the sedum roof, a sun tunnel which captures sunlight reducing the need to use artificial light.
