Alternative Space specialise in eco friendly garden buildings. They are not one of those companies who claim to be eco friendly just because their buildings have a living roof – they have given thought to each element of the building and found an ethical and sustainable material to create it.
The contemporary designed Eco Den comes in three standard sizes and is made from super insulated wooden panels that incorporate a breathable, waterproof membrane. The walls are cladded with horizontal tongue & groove cedar, which is very durable.
Alternative Space recommend having a living roof on their garden rooms, a living roof provides the building with additional insulation as well as providing natural vegetation which replaces what was removed by installing the building itself.
All timber used holds FSC, PEFC or CSA chain of custody certification – this means that all timber used can be traced back to the forest it was grown in.

If you are looking for a more individual design Alternative Space offer their bespoke Classic range. Built to the same high standard as the Eco Den the Classic range incorporates a steel skeleton which means whole walls of glass can be incorporated into the design.
