A garden designers studio

Talented garden designer and keen artist, Amanda Patton (, was eager to find a studio that worked in her beautiful garden and that didn’t look out of place next to her quaint cottage in West Sussex.

Amanda approached Sanctum Garden Studios after seeing the 2.4m x 2.4m Stealth with Western Red Cedar side panels, which she thought could be the solution to her needs.

Access wasn’t easy in the small garden

The plot was small and the only access was through a small gate with limited space, and with the site being positioned on the corner of a busy road with no official parking, it proved to be one of the trickiest locations that Sanctum have installed in.

After a challenging time with planners, and what seemed like months of waiting, finally Amanda’s dream studio was installed. Six months on and having now planted grasses and seedheads around her new studio, Amanda is eager to see how it all looks once Summer 2014 is here. As soon as the studio had been finished, this is what Amanda said:-

I’m absolutely thrilled with my Stealth studio; thirty years after leaving art college I now have what I have always dreamed of, a designated painting studio which is light and spacious. The studio needed to face north, but with its solid glass wall I have been delighted to see how light it is inside and the stylish contemporary design fits well in my small garden. The team worked incredibly hard all day to set it up, they were efficient, professional and took a great deal of care over every detail, even polishing the glass at the end. But this was no surprise to me as I have had brilliant service from the start and being a family run business really shows in the extra mile that they go. As a garden designer who specifies high quality and often bespoke items for my clients, I am also very impressed with the quality of the construction and materials – it’s beautifully made. I would have no hesitation in recommending both the studio and the company. Thanks again Sam, I keep sneaking into the studio even though it’s still empty, just because it’s such a lovely space to be in!! All the very best to you, and please thank the team who were both brilliant – they worked so hard, non-stop and cheerfully, even when it was chucking it down with rain!”
