6m x 4m garden room by Garden Fortress

Garden Fortress have recently completed this substantial garden room in Surrey which is going to be used as a games room. The building sits on a footprint of 6 meters wide by 4 meters deep.  Running along the front elevation is a 1.5 meter veranda which incorporates a step as the building sits on a sloping site.

The garden room is fully insulated and electrically wired so will be a comfortable space to spend time all year round. The interior of the room is fully plastered so has the feel of a room in a new house. Garden Fortress have recently added a slimline wall heater and brushed steel sockets & switches to their standard specification.

In addition to the standard Garden Fortress specification, the customer chose to add the following to the building:

  • 0.5m canopy roof
  • Exterior downlights
  • 1.5m veranda with incorporated step (slightly higher than normal due to sloping site)
  • Decking lights
  • Remote control for exterior lights
  • Additional full height window (next to door)
  • French door upgrade
  • Interior downlights

Garden Fortress clad their garden rooms in Western Red Cedar. On this build they applied a oil to the cladding. You can see in this video of the build the difference the application of the oil makes to the look of the building.
