Our series of 5 minutes with… interviews continue with this Q&A session with Studioni:
What makes your company / garden rooms unique?
Iconic design, fine eye for detailed craftsmanship, customer happiness and quality, quality, quality.
What feature of your garden rooms are you most proud of?
Thermal values and design flexibility: combining the BBA approved structure and insulation in walls, roof and floor, we have put together the finest aluminium joinery and excellent performance glazing to give clients very low running costs (in terms of heating and lighting)
When designing your garden rooms, which is more important form or function?
Depends on the client, who always leads the process.
What scope do you have for incorporating the customers design ideas into your garden rooms?
Every scope imaginable. We design every project bespoke, although most clients like to begin with one of our models as a base. When we begin with a clean sheet, it is a refreshing project to be involved with.
Many customers are concerned about planning permission, how can you help customers with this issue?
Planning rules and requirements change regularly and vary widely throughout the UK and Ireland. We are aware of all current legislation and the models on our website can all usually be installed without the need for a planning application, assuming permitted development rights are in place.
For town scape merit homes, conservation areas, AONB and national parks, the restrictions can be tighter but if need be, we can submit an application for the client, prior to ordering their Studioni room.
Not every site is level, what options do you have for building your garden rooms on uneven ground?
We can either alter the ground to create a more even site or adjust the foundation piles to accommodate the fall. The latter may necessitate an extra step into the room. All options are normally weighed up by the client with two things in mind: cost and final appearance. After all, they will be looking at it every day and it must be right!
Some customers are concerned about the ongoing maintenance of a garden room, what annual maintenance do your garden rooms require?
Standard Studioni garden rooms require no annual maintenance. We reckon our clients are purchasing to make it easier for themselves to devote more time to their families or other interests, not paint their posh garden room every year.
It’s good to wash the windows occassionally!
What aftercare do you offer your customers?
A 10 year insurance backed guarantee on structure and workmanship. Free call-outs to address any appropriate snags; for example, sometimes as the building settles the doors may require a 5 minute adjustment.
A loyalty scheme.
Describe your company in three words!
Happy Lifetime Quality
